I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Spring was here this weekend (and I am just going to ignore the snow in the forecast for Wednesday…) and I spent most of my time outdoors. It felt great to be out in the sunshine, wearing a light shirt and enjoying every last bit of it all.
Lately I have been finding myself getting up super early on Saturday mornings and getting a jump start on all my housework. I am up really early for work each day and while I like to catch a couple extra hours of sleep on the weekends, I have been finding that I enjoy having everything in the house cleaned by 8-9am and I can then enjoy the rest of my day/weekend. Plus, I enjoy cleaning by myself before everyone else gets up and I can just zoom through it all and not have anyone else in the way. It’s a win-win for me!
Michael and I went for a drive into Downtown Buffalo to the Japanese Gardens to see the cherry blossoms. Let me tell you, I didn’t think there would be that many people there (especially on a Sunday morning!). It was actually overwhelming and my introvert nature just wanted to find my place and take some pictures and have everyone leave me alone. It took awhile but I did manage to find a spot as Michael patiently waited for me to do my thing.
I have a goal this year to spend more time outdoors and enjoying the city and what it has to offer. I have a listing of 6 beautiful gardens in Buffalo to visit this Spring/Summer and this was the first one checked off my list. It was beautiful but definitely a small area and lots of people. (and my dislike of all the people isn’t even because of Covid… it’s simply either I was in someone’s way or they were in mine.)
I was fairly pleased with the pictures that I took though! The sun was very harsh and it shows in the pictures but I think they still turned out pretty. Cherry blossoms have always been a favorite of mine to photograph.
There’s so much more that I could add about this weekend (it truly was a great one with lost of things going on) but I will have to save them for another post. I hope everyone enjoys their week!
XOXO, Jules
